About the Comic

Meet anti-heroine Amethyst Lashiec -- she's brash, buxom, and incredibly barbarous!

But she wasn't always like that. Despite being a succubus, she lead the fairly easy life of a princess until the War against the Beastmen changed everything. Now Ame is determined to overthrow her father, the Lord of the demonic Overfiends. With or without her former allies' help!

Heartcore blends fantasy spoofs and tells a little story about good vs. evil...er...less evil vs. evil? Who knows?!

Heartcore is a story I had swimming around in my head involving a cast of characters: some old, many new, a few derivative from friends. I really wanted to expand the personalities, motives, and backstory of several characters...take them on a little adventure of sorts. The comic is inspired by various series I enjoyed while growing up, but I aspire to make it stand well enough on it's own. To say I’m grateful for the people who've discovered it and followed along would be a massive understatement. Thank you!

To any newcomers to the series: I hope you enjoy it!

Heartcore is recommended for an audience of teens and up. There's a significant amount of violence, female characters prancing around all sexy-like, and innuendo.

I'm boring and love drawing dirty stuff. I'm an avid cook and treat Alton Brown's books like bibles. I have an undying love for Nintendo. I also love watching bad horror flicks. I'm enamoured with the 80's. S'about it.

FAQ

Q. How do you make the comic?
A. I use cheap paper and pencil for the lineart. I ink using micron pens. Adobe Photoshop/Wacom Bamboo tablet for the coloring/layouts/lettering.

Q. Do you ever intend to publish Heartcore?
A. Maybe. For now I want to enjoy myself and see where it goes. I intend to promote the comic once it hits a certain point in the story.

Q. Do you have side projects relevant to Heartcore in mind?
A. Likely a side story further down the line. I've had colleages express interest in helping with other types of projects, so it's a possibility!

Q. How do you pronounce Ame's name?
A. Ame is pronounced 'Aim', like what you would do with a gun. Not like 'Amy' or the Japanese word 'Ame'.

Q. Will you ever do Unsound of Mind again?
A. I'd rather not do any major fan-based project again. (Yes, I know it still centered mostly on the original characters, but that fact remains.) Something in the same vein as UOM - gag-a-day and episodic? Mayhaps~

Q. -insert misc. question about the story here-?
A. I have to keep mum on a fair bit, sorry!

Q. Major artistic influences?
A. Takehito Harada, Kousuke Fujishima, Hekaton. I'm also a big fan of Monet and Van Gogh and litter my house with prints of their paintings.
